What movie should we watch?

“What movie should we watch?” AKA let’s sit and scroll through Netflix for the next 1.5 hours.

While I was living in Barcelona for coding school, I had a small yet adorable apartment in the heart of the city. However, this small & adorable apartment had the worst wifi issues. The wifi never worked in the bedroom so Netflix was not an option.

Being an avid Netflix binger, I needed a solution. I started to download movies and watch them in my room without the need of the internet. However, I never knew what to watch. I was always scrolling through endless options but could never make a decision.

I decided to create myself a website where I put in the genre of movie and it would give only one option. I think that by giving the user only one option, it allows them to truly consider it & make a decision way faster.

I gave them the ability to choose another one if that option didn’t quite suit them and/or to start their search all over again.

It’s an extremely simple website but it was created for myself with the main purpose of picking a movie based on the genre I want. This is the coolest part about coding to me. I had the need for a website that can pick a movie for me so I was able to just create it myself rather than just hope that one day someone would come up with it. The freedom to make whatever code you want really makes learning to code worth it.
